Small dog breeding is very similar to regular dog breeding except that the dogs being bred are much smaller. Usually small dogs include those dogs that are less than 30 pounds, such as Miniature Schnauzers and Beagles. Dogs smaller than fifteen pounds are usually in the toy class and are not part of small dog breeding. As with all types of dog breeding, small dog breeding does not require any kind of human intervention during the mating process, unless a dog has a medical problem. For the most part, Mother Nature takes care of everything. Though small dog breeding is similar to regular dog breeding, the owners of the female dog will have to do more for the pregnant dog than a regular sized dog. This is because small dogs tend to have difficult pregnancies because their small bodies can not handle the added stress of the puppies. Moreover, many times these small dogs need help giving birth. Their tiny bodies are not able to birth the puppies without some help in small dog breeding. Usually it is best to bring a pregnant small dog to a vet to give birth during small dog breeding.
